We just moved to KcMo from Austin Tx, and since I grew up in Austin I didn't realize how much I took for granted about recycling. Because water is at a premium we conserve a lot... we recycle everything as a culture and a city.

So to my shock when I found out that Kansas City MO downtown Wesport doesn't even recycle bottles, and they will only allow 2 PLASTIC bags of trash, and NO yard waste unless it's in a plastic bag. It absolutely makes NO sense to me.

So I'm am going to try to get involved with the ordinances about the sad state their recycling practices are...

I was just wondering what other peoples experiences are with changing their local government recycling practices...
